This is a postwar American classic—“the Businessliner”—Cessna’s first all-metal production single after the war, aimed at the traveling businessman or family who wanted something roomier and faster than a Cub or early 170, with the romance of a big radial (typically a Jacobs R-755 of 275–300 hp). It seats 4–5, has a sedan-like cabin, and cruises in the 150–165 mph range depending on engine and load. Cherished for their looks, the radial soundtrack, and solid cross-country capability.
